What is a healthy lifestyle?

Health is more than just nutrition. In today's world being healthy and leading a healthy lifestyle is a privilege. Your health is so valuable that sadly only when you become ill do you recognise the importance of it.

Health doesn't need to be complicated or expensive. It's about recognising all elements within your life that represents a positive impact on your health. Your career, social life, finances, religion or spirituality can all have an impact on your health. If one is out of balance it's easy for the others to follow. That's why it's important to check in and evaluate what is going well in life and what perhaps requires a little care and attention. There is no rocket science when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle, but sometimes it gets a little cloudy and we need some guidance to help us find our way. In terms of overall health I recommend the following:

  • Whole fresh foods - locally sourced and grown where possible

  • Move your body daily

  • Hydrate - drink lots of water

  • Sleep 6-8 hours per day - your body and mind need the rest

  • Surround yourself with nature when you can

  • Positive tribe equals positive vibes - surround yourself with people who lift you up

  • Career - do what you love and what brings you joy

  • Finances - budget and plan to ensure you feel secure financially.

Have a look at my circle of life chart and look at each individual section and see what you would score yourself 1-10 for each. You may be surprised by the answers.
